WISE is an emerging designer selection project for the under 30 years old, initiated by the Chinese designer Mario Tsai and held by Design Dome, Shenzhen Creative Week (SZCW). It consists of three parts: design selection, prototyping (by an official sponsor), and group exhibitions during SZCW. Thid is one of the most well-known selection programs for new designers in China.
In our trophy design for this year’s (2024) WISE project, we express the "step by step" concept through the ladder element, wishing each winner a pragmatic approach to design. Meanwhile, we pick the abstract forms of sofas and finishes to emphasize the special identities of the top three winners.
Additionally, we place a bottle opener underneath, hoping that the trophy will not only serve as a souvenir but also bring joy through the act of opening a bottle.
