Slice Mei Vase is inspired by the classic ceramic form Mei Vase, and adopts BRIGHTORB, a special ceramic material developed by AGC, a century-old Japanese glass material manufacturer. This innovative work is a joint presentation by INSDIM and AGC's joint venture, CERAWEI in China. This marks the first time a Chinese design studio has been involved in the BRIGHTORB material application project.
Using advanced 3DP technology, Slice Mei has realized complex structures that are challenging for traditional ceramic additive manufacturing. With changes in viewing angles, the contours of the object reveal rich morphological changes. This not only displays the unique potential of BRIGHTORB compared to traditional craftsmanship but also stimulates associations between new materials and ceramics.
