insdim was responsible for the WISE 2024 trophy design. This year, Sean Yo-Yo, head of the insdim design office, began chairing the WISE Emerging Designers Competition and Exhibition, a special curation of Design Dome at Shenzhen Creative Week.
As one of the most important emerging designer selection programs in China's furniture and lifestyle products industry, WISE selects only eight designers under 30 years old annually. Each year, the program is exclusively supported by a different industry-leading manufacturer. This manufacturer helps the selected designers create working prototypes and provides an opportunity to include their works in the manufacturer's catalog. The number eight holds special significance for the WISE program, so insdim designed an octagonal logo as the main visual element. This logo was used to design the 2025 trophy, certificate, booth, graphics, and other materials.
The 2025 trophy was manufactured using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technique, achieving a level of design detail that would be difficult to achieve with other processing techniques. The semi-open structure at the center allows it to be used as a floral container on the winner's desk after the ceremony.
